The Academy for the Performing Arts consists of high school students and adults from beginners to professionals. Singers who have worked with Ms. Halliday are consistently recognized as having a powerful solid technique while exhibiting great musicality and expression and have performed nationally and internationally, on BROADWAY and at venues including the Kennedy Center, Strathmore Hall, Fords Theatre, Arena Stage, and Carnegie Hall.

Since the opening of the studio in 2003, singers have been honored with Helen Hayes nominations, Maryland Distinguished Scholar in the Arts, Washington Post Performing Artist Scholarships, Cappies Awards including BEST VOCALIST, 1st Place in the NAACP Act-SO Awards, 1st place in Golden Voices of America Award, 1st place in NATS Competition, Foundation Scholarships, MCPS Singing and Theatre Awards, Superintendent Performing Artist Awards, University Scholarships as well as numerous other honors and awards.

Singers who have trained with Ms. Halliday have been accepted to continue their performing arts education at such institutions as the Manhattan School of Music; the Stella Adler and Meisner Studios at Tisch School of the Arts, NYU; Northwestern University; Indiana University; Carnegie Mellon; Yale; Penn State; Webster College; Miami, Syracuse, Emerson, USC, UMD, UM, and others.
